Hi everyone
Just thought I would let you know that Jake and Karl left for the USA Tuesday morning (our time) at 3am, yes that’s right 3am. Was a very early start for them as their first flight was a 6am but they had to drive an hour to get to the airport.
Jake will not have his laptop with him but please if you could drop him a text as he will have his phone with him, he always likes to hear from you all back home.
Thanks
Debbie
Hi everyone sorry haven’t been able to write up anything on here for awhile as we went to Paris for a bit of a holiday and I didn’t want to take my laptop for security reasons. Anyway I had a great time and it was awesome to be able to see even more of the world. One of the highlights of that trip would have to be the Eiffel tower. It was really massive and to be able to stand under it and look up and see all the huge beams of steel going everywhere was really something. We also went and saw it at night time when it was lit up and all the flashing lights were on.
We used the trains to get around as its the quickest and cheapest way but it wasn’t the nicest as there was lots of beggers and people living on the ground in all the subways. We had a nice hotel just out of Paris which was good but the only tv chanel we could understand was CNN the news channel so we knew what was going on in the rest of the world because there was a couple of wet days and that was our only entertainment.
The trip back to England was good but seemed to take longer than the way there. We went on the Euro star the train that goes under the sea, so just that on its own was an awesome experience doing about 300km.
I have now got my bags all packed up ready to go to the airport tomorrow to fly back home. I’m really looking forward to getting home to my own bed and seeing everyone. It feels like I have been away for ever.
On Monday morning we travelled to Germany and picked up John, Luke and Libby from there we went to a camping ground close by. Having five in the van was more than anyone could handle, as a result Warren and i slept with the slugs outside.
Tuesday we dropped Warren off in middle of some town as he was on his way home. the rest of us started our trek to Italy. We past through some amazing hills going through Switzerland, with a freezing cold river running below us. We stopped for a little stone skimming comp.
After being stopped at the border with questions about paperwork we thought we were sorted. That was until we took one small wrong turn and it all went pear shaped, it definitely tested how far we could push each other. So after two and a half hours of what should have taken 20minutes we arrived at the camp site near the lake.
Stayed there for two nights and just worked on the bike, watched the paragliding and just had time to lax out.
Now we are at the event site in Lazzate, Italy. It is extremely hot and all we want to do is sit and drink ice cold still water but we keep buying the sparkling water!!!
Me and Warren landed in London on Tuesday night after a flight that seemed to be never ending. We were picked up by a former top 15 world class rider (Sam Conner) We stayed the night at his place and in the morning we caught the train to a place called Gatwick where we picked up our big van.(THE BEAST)
After we had sorted everything out with insurance for the van we made our way up to Stroud to BVM Motorcycles. Today we will be setting up my new bike and stocking up on spare parts etc.
We are aiming to drive up to Yorkshire around lunch time today where we will be spending the next five days. Also on Monday I’m doing some training with Graham Jarvis who used to be a top three world rider.
By for now
Jake
