Training in Te Kuiti

Filed under: Uncategorized — Jake @ 4:50 pm

Last Friday Nick Oliver came up from Nelson for a weekends training in Te Kuiti with me and Warren. We headed up early Saturday morning and arrived about 11.00am so we still had half the day to get some good training in on one of my favourite properties in NZ to ride at.

That night we watched the 2007 outdoor world championship dvd which I found really good for getting enthused about the next day’s riding. On Sunday morning we headed back out to find the weather looking like it was going to rain but it seemed to clear to another really good day which was good because it was actully a club trial and some of the sections they had set out for us could do without getting slippery.

The trial went really well and i really enjoyed all the sections throughout the day. It was awesome to have Nick up here and to seeing him trying stuff he wouldn’t normally do and his big improvement over the weekend was really good to see.

After we had finished riding we jumped in the river to cool off which was freezing but i felt a lot better after and was ready for the six hour drive home.

The Best of the Best!!

Went to Motueka for the last time before we head off to Italy for some more practice. Saturday we went down to Blue Gum corner where there was heaps of rocks to practice on. Sunday we went out to 88 Valley and Josh Coppins came out to the Park to meet me and wish me well for Italy, that was great, thanks Josh as I know how busy you are at the moment. Josh and I talked for a while and he gave me some really good advice on how to reach my goals and my career in Trials, great stuff!! The best of one sport meeting the other, its not very often that can happen and what a great experience.
