On Thursday and Friday before when had practice I felt really good on the bike so I was really confident on a good result. We woke up on Saturday to a little rain, but didn’t eventuate to much. The sections were really good. On the last section of the first lap I had an injury to my left foot which was a set back but overall for the day I came in at 10th position which was a good result considering.
Will update tomorrow with Sundays results.

Hi everyone
Just thought I would let you know that Jake and Karl left for the USA Tuesday morning (our time) at 3am, yes that’s right 3am. Was a very early start for them as their first flight was a 6am but they had to drive an hour to get to the airport.
Jake will not have his laptop with him but please if you could drop him a text as he will have his phone with him, he always likes to hear from you all back home.
Thanks
Debbie
We left on Friday afternoon after we had got the bikes loaded in the truck, it was about a two hour drive up into the mountains where the snow wasn’t far off the sections. Saturday morning we had practice until lunch time then after lunch we had bike inspection and sign in. Then we walked the sections, there were 10 sections just like home but instead of doing four laps we only did three. Sections looked good but there was some pretty big stuff for the 125 as I was again riding in the senior grade.
Sunday I started off the day good with two cleans on the first two sections. Then we got to section three, it had a few big steps which I managed to get the first two really good but on the third one despite my biggest effort I couldn’t get out the top. This was a case on the second lap as well. Then we got into the even more difficult sections where they were big as well as slippery which didn’t help my results for the first lap. My second lap again started well with a clean and a one. I got through one of the bigger sections as I was pleased to do this as not many of the 125 riders were getting through it and getting through a couple of others for a safety dab rather than risking the five. This helped and my score improved on the second lap. On the third lap I fived a couple of sections that I was able through on the second lap which didn’t help my end result.
I ended up in eleventh place which I can be too disappointed with considering the sections and all the older guys I was up against. I was happy to improve on the unnecessary mistakes that I had been making in previous events and felt really strong on the bike which is a good confidence boost for the USA world round which is coming up this weekend.
We are leaving at 4am on Tuesday morning to get the airport to head off to the USA and back the following Tuesday.
Catch ya later for now.
Jake
We arrived in Ireland on Thursday so all the bikes could be prepared from the last world round in Germany. The weather wasn’t the best over the weekend with snow and as most of the sections were set out along the sea site on the sharp slippery rocks the wind was really strong and made it really hard to keep balance.
There was two trials held over the two days, a European Championship on the Saturday and the Worlds on the Sunday. I rode the European on Saturday as it would be good practice for the world round the following day because the sections remained the same.
I wasn’t very happy with my performance on Saturday making big mistakes that where very costly and as I have said before you can not come back from a five over here because everyone is just so close in the points. I ended up down in 13th for the day.
I was keen to get back on the bike the following morning to show everyone that it is possible for me o get a good result but again things didn’t go my way. I started the day off really good with two really good rides on section 2 and 3, Unfortunately I wasn’t able to carry this on making some really dumb fives and three’s on the slippery rocks.
My second lap was alright and if I could have rode the same on the first lap I’m sure the result would of been a bit better. I had some good rides only making one five for the lap so that was pretty good but still not good enough as you need to be on it right from the start. I had my worst result in a world round finishing down in 16th place.
Now once again I am putting yet another ride behind me and putting it down as experience and now focusing on the USA round in two weeks time.

Me and Toni Bou
Cheers
Jake
