Dirt Guide Cross Country Series – Round 2
I raced my TSS Red Baron KTM 250 XCF at the second round of the Dirt Guide Cross Country Series yesterday near Tokoroa. It was another mud fest of a race after all the wet weather they’ve had up that way. It made for some fun racing.
I managed to get a good start off the line and I headed into the trees behind behind Paul Whibley and Tom Buxton in 3rd place. It was good to have a clear track for once, rather than battling through the other riders in all the mud. I was holding onto 3rd for a while until I got cross rutted and came off. A group of riders passed me and put me back to 10th place.
I was able to gain back a few places and after two hours of racing finish in 8th overall and 2nd in class. I’m happy with how my riding is starting to progress again and looking forward to the next round in a couple of weeks.
Thanks to everyone who continues to support me. I couldn’t do it without you!
Cheers
Jake
