Regarding: Jake Whitaker

To whom it may Concern

I have been competing in the sport of Observed Trials riding for 20 years. During that time I have progressed through the National levels to become NZs most successful rider with seven New Zealand and two Australian Championships to my name. I have also spent three years living and competing in the UK and Europe against the best riders in the world, completing two world round events and a full European championship season.

I first meet Jake three years ago and was immediately impressed by his enthusiasm, dedication and strong competitive nature. His ability to ride trials and in fact any form of bike or motorbike soon became clear. He has a unique gift in his natural ability for trials. He has been lucky to have help and assistance from various leading people within the trials community, as well as strong family support. These people have all seen Jakes natural abilities, and are keen to be involved to help him to achieve his goals.

I have been involved in High Performance training and also personal training for Jake over the last two years. I am constantly impressed by his willingness to learn and the speed at which he has progressed during this time. Jake is a great student who listens well and acts on what he is told.

After Jakes trip to the UK last year to spectate at a World Championship event his enthusiasm and determination to compete himself at these events in the future has been remarkable. He could see that he was on par with some of the best in his age group and is confident of a top five finishing position during his first foray into the world scene this year. I personally think he does have what it takes to make it to the top of our sport, he just needs more support to enable him to compete week in week out against these other top competitors to gain experience at the top level. I am sure Jakes future in this sport is going to be huge and I will be doing all that I possibly can to assist him to achieve his chosen goal to have another NZ Motorcycling World Champion.

Yours Sincerely
